Are your friends making you fat?
They may be. Researchers, whose study was published in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, say we are greatly influenced by the people we eat with. If your best friend loves to nosh on butter laden popcorn and Juju Bees while watching movies, then, it’s likely you’ll join him.
If you are trying to lose weight or make healthier eating choices, you don’t have to avoid your friends, but you should consider challenges that will arise when you meet up. When you go to the movies, for example, take a healthy snack, like apple slices and a bottle of water, or pop some gum into your mouth before the popcorn is passed your way.
And, as much as possible, surround yourself with people who have similar healthy living goals. These people will be able to cheer you on and introduce you to great, diet friendly restaurants as well as fun activities that keep your body moving.
We believe you can:
1) Take control of your own health
2) Become pain-free without invasive procedures or pills
3) Deserve to look and feel great in your body every day.
